Friendship Village Accommodations
The conference facilities at Friendship Village Retreat and Conference Center can accommodate groups of all sizes. Whether you are planning a corporate retreat, family reunion, wedding, church group event, business meeting or conference, our Conference Center has everything you need.
Bear Conference Lodge is an expanded historic farmhouse whose origins date back 200 years. The original chimney hearth was laid by a family who escaped the Trail of Tears. Today, Bear Conference Lodge houses the kitchen, dining, and meeting rooms for groups of 10 to greater than 50.
Inside, the Lodge has one large meeting room with two smaller, "break-out" rooms, as well as two second floor meeting rooms accessible from the outside. Outside, Sunny Side Cafe is a covered setting adjacent to the Lodge. It comes equipped with a small stage, full lighting and sound. Local musicians and local karaoke artists, as well as special guests, have entertained hundreds on bright sunny afternoons as well as romantic star-lit nights.
The Kitchen is available for you to cook and store your own food. If you choose our Catering department to prepare delectable food, we will consult with you on the menus and any specialty dietary requirements. Please contact Catering at 740-838-4033 to create the most delicious fare for your event.

Bring your next Event to Friendship Village!
Get away to the magic and wonder of the Ohio Valley.
Friendship Village also has a very special area to rent for events. This is the perfect place for a wedding or musical program like a gospel sing or a bluegrass festival. The following venues are all located in Ancient Village, in a large meadow below the mounds of the Ancient Adena people.
Arbor
There is a large circular arbor that is open to the sky with covered seating around the edge. Dance Festivals, Bluegrass Music, Boy Scout Gatherings and other events have been held here. The sound system is great and the area is surrounded by a thick forest.
Summer Kitchen
This is a large kitchen/restaurant with a beautiful covered deck where hundreds can be served. Delicious meals from Clam Bakes to Hamburgers hot off the grill have delighted many. A cool breeze comes through in the summer and at night the torches light the path and you can see thousands of stars in the night sky.
Ancient Historical Village
These are historical structures which demonstrate how people lived from the very earliest times in stone houses all the way up through the 1800s. You can even spend the night in one of these and experience what it was like in earlier times for your ancestors. For more information about Ancient Village, please visit
